Marrakech, September 9-21, 2002

More details about the school

Lodging

Most participants will be accommodated at the Club of the University, a new complex which includes a restaurant, a swimming pool and sports facilities. The address of Club of the University is quartier Amarchich (close to Cité Universitaire), Tel.: 044 3105-65 (or -66). The Club is within walking distance from the university (about 20mn). There is also a bus (#13).
Instructors and some participants will be housed at the CNSS Club, which is a little farther from the university. The address of the CNSS is: Centre de vacances de la Securite Sociale, Route de Targa, Marrakech, Tel. : 044 49 03-67 (or -68, -69, -70, -71).
All participants and the instructors will not only meet during the scientific activities but also during lunch which will be served for everyone at the university club.

School location

The school courses will take place at the Faculte des Sciences Semlalia, Boulevard Prince Moulay Abdellah, 40000 Marrakech.
Drafts of some of the lecture notes will be available on line from the end of July (reserved for duly registered participants). It is advisable to print out the drafts before arriving at the school, as facilities for printing during the school will be limited.
Internet access should be available on the site of the school.

Local transport

A bus ticket costs 0.3 euros (for a journey) to be bought in the bus. There are two sorts of taxis in Marrakech: "petit taxi" (up to 3 persons) around 3 euros for a distance of about 3km); "grand taxi" (up to 6 persons) (in fact, it is like a small bus, and a course costs the same price as a bus ticket).

Communications

We encourage participants to give oral communications during the school. There will be sessions during the day or in the evening for these presentations. There will be two types of talks: a ten-minute talk is intended for those who have just started a research topic, it will be an excellent opportunity to introduce themselves to the scientific community; twenty-minute talks will be more adapted to more advanced work. Please let us know as soon as possible whether you would like to give a communication. If so, would you rather give a ten-minute, or a twenty-minute communication.
If you plan to communicate, you will be requested to give a title and a short abstract. If you want your material to be put on the website, please send it, preferably typeset using LaTeX, to the webmaster.

Additional information about Morocco

A great deal of information is available online about Morocco. For the budget traveler, Lonely planet, or in French, le guide du routard, both contain a lot of practical information.
